Drill Press

Purpose

Drill straight holes!
Allows you to drill in a precise location
Ensures the bit is perpendicular to the surface (useful with something like Forstner bits)

Make sure to keep your piece of wood braced up against the fence
- The bit can grab the piece of wood and spin it
- Either brace or clamp the wood before starting to prevent the wood from spinning
When done drilling, don't just let go of the spring-loaded handle
- Make sure you ease it back slowly until it's all the way retracted
- If you let go, the handle will slam back up to the starting position
Make sure your bit is tightened securely in the chuck
